Titanium is recognized for its high strength-to-weight ratio giving it a diversified field of applications. Delrin® Acetal is a highly-crystalline engineering thermoplastic used in high load mechanical applications. It is characterized by its high strength, hardness and rigidity to −40 °C. Found intrinsically opaque white, due to its high crystalline composition, but it is available in all colors.

Acrylic is a clear thermoplastic with about 92% transparency, making it useful in many optical applications. Unaffected by moisture it is also a good electrical insulator for low frequencies and has very good resistance for weathering. Acrylics are typically made by one of three processes, extrusion, continuously manufactured and casting.
