L605 is a cobalt-chromium-tungston-nickel alloy.L605 displays excellent high-temperature strength and excellent oxidation resistance to 2000°F. The material also has good sulfidation resistance and resistance to wear and galling. It is non-magnetic. The high chromium content makes it resistant to corrosion in a wide range of environments such as wet chlorine, hydrochloric acid and nitric acid.
When exposed for prolonged periods at intermediate temperatures, alloy L605 exhibits a loss of room temperature ductility in much the same fashion as other superalloys, such as alloy X or alloy 625.
